APULIA Original Oil Painting
APULIA is an oil painting from my Bella Terra series about the beauty of the Italian landscape and how it is being affected by climate change. Apulia honors the ancient olive trees lost in the Apulia (Puglia) region of Italy.
The extremely hot temperatures due to climate change exacerbate the spread of the bacteria known as Xylella fastidiosa which has killed over 21 million olive trees in Apulia, about one-third of the region's olive trees some of which were centuries old.
Apulia is a southern region in Italy full of extraordinary culture, history, cuisine, and a beautiful and varied coastline. It is also where most of my Italian ancestry is from. I have yet to visit this region, but I definitely plan to explore there.
Apulia is 36x48 inches (121.92 cm) on stretched cotton canvas 1.5 inches deep (3.81 cm). I use a mixture of oil paints which include Maimeri Terre Grezze d'Italia (Raw Lands of Italy) oil paints made of Italian natural earth pigments. So my Bella Terra paintings are infused with the harmony and warmth of actual Italian earth tones and ancient pigments.
Each oil painting is signed by me and includes a Certificate of Authenticity. I cover packing, you cover shipping. Price does not include shipping. Contact me to discuss shipping.
