BELLA TERRA is a series about the beauty of the Italian landscape. I begin each painting with a watercolor study which I later turn into an oil painting.
If you know me, you know of my love for Italy. My ancestry is all Italian and I feel in my blood and in my bones came this love of art. The first time I went to Italy, within the first hour, I could feel something special. This shameless appreciation for art and beauty, this dancing language, and all my senses were brought to life!
While I wait to return and explore that varied landscape, I know it's being affected by climate change. So, I also express in this series, the sadness, the delight, and the longing.
