LIBERTAD Canvas Prints
LIBERTAD is a painting honoring the strength of the Guatemalan people. The majestic quetzal bird flying above the mother is Guatemala’s national bird and a symbol of freedom. They’re surrounded by Guatemala's many beautiful flowers and familiar plant life. The blue jay flying above the boy symbolizes the spirit of bravery and intuition. The inner landscape and sole man in a small boat represent the challenges a person faces when immigrating, leaving behind their home to arrive in a new place and culture. The roots under their feet symbolize their search to feel rooted and safe. The butterflies symbolize transformation and migration reminding us that immigration is an ever-constant movement throughout humankind all over the world.
