Marmolada

Original Watercolor

MARMOLADA is a watercolor from my Bella Terra series about the beauty of the Italian landscape and how it is being affected by climate change. Marmolada honors the lives lost due to the Marmolada glacier collapse in July of 2022 due to unusually warm temperatures. I was visiting Italy at the time with my family, and I have never forgotten the lives lost that day. 

Each original watercolor painting is 11x14 inches on Fabriano Classico 100% cotton archival paper. Fabriano has been making paper in Fabriano, Italy with hydropower for over 750 years.

This painting is also painted with A. Gallo watercolors, a woman owned small art supply company based in Assisi, Italy. They make watercolors the traditional way with gum arabic, honey, and rosemary oil. 

I use the Naturale 2 watercolor set by A. Gallo for the Bella Terra series which has twelve exquisite earth, mineral and plant based pigments including a vibrant Italian raw sienna from Badia, and new Fra Angelico Lapis lazuli, sourced from premium extra fine Lapis Lazuli stone.

Each watercolor painting is signed by me, and includes a Certificate of Authenticity. 

All profits from this sale will go to The Nature Conservancy, working in Italy and all over the world so people and nature can thrive.
