Marmolada

Original Watercolor

MARMOLADA is a watercolor from my Bella Terra series about the beauty of the Italian landscape and how it is being affected by climate change. Marmolada honors the eleven lives lost due to the Marmolada glacier collapse in July of 2022 due to unusually warm temperatures. I was visiting Italy at the time with my family, and I have never forgotten the lives lost that day. 

Each original watercolor painting is 11x14 inches on Fabriano Classico 100% cotton archival paper. Fabriano has been making paper in Fabriano, Italy with hydropower for over 750 years!

Painted with my favorite watercolors, A. Gallo, an artist and woman-owned company based in Assisi Italy. They make watercolors the traditional way with nature-based pigments from Italy and the Mediterranean, gum arabic, honey, and rosemary oil. 

Each watercolor painting is signed by me, and includes a Certificate of Authenticity.
