Bella Terra is a series about the beauty of the Italian landscape. Here are the watercolor studies from this series which I ultimately will turn into oil paintings.
If you know me, you know of my love for Italy. My ancestry is Italian and I feel in my blood and in my bones that this is where my love for art comes from. The first time I went to Italy, within the first hour, I could feel something special. A shameless appreciation for art and beauty, a dancing language, and all my senses were brought to life!
While I wait to return and explore that varied landscape, I know it's being affected by climate change. So, I also express in this series, the sadness, the delight, and the longing.
